Quincy Johnson, 27, 2605 Isabel St., Houma, Levonti Bogen, 18, 6132 N. Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, and Brandon Mason, 27, 203 Bon Jovi Blvd., Gray, were allegedly involved in a fight with Frank Austin on Tuesday.
Terrebonne sheriff’s deputies said Austin accused Bogen of stealing something. The verbal argument allegedly became physical, and Johnson and Mason aided Bogen in beating Austin.
Later that day, Austin came to jail guards complaining of a head injury. He was transported to Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center, and later to a New Orleans hospital. As of Wednesday, Austin was unresponsive, police said.
Husband charged in beating
HOUMA — A man accused of chasing a victim into a Bourg area cemetery and beating him severely Tuesday afternoon was jailed on battery charges by Terrebonne sheriff’s deputies.
Investigators said Eric John Olivier, 33, 141 Bourg Larose Highway, Bourg, was charged with domestic abuse battery and second degree battery.
They reported that Olivier’s wife, who was giving a ride to a male friend, was driving south on La. 56 in her family’s truck.
When she noticed her husband was following her closely in a company truck, she pulled over at a roadside cemetery and the rider got out of her truck.
She said Olivier pushed her and attacked the male friend, chasing him into the cemetery and beating him until he was unconscious.
Olivier told officers that he had earlier told his wife that he did not like the friend riding in his truck, and became angry when he saw him in the passenger’s seat.
The male victim, who reportedly suffered bruises and abrasions, refused medical attention. Olivier is being held at the Terrebonne Parish jail in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
